あっ地震！！！！！

今日地震があってびっくりした！！！！！！！
I was surprised at the earthquake today!!!!!!

僕は地震が大嫌い。

I really hate earthquakes.

外国人はなれてないから地震がくると固まってしまう（笑）
Westerners are not used to earthquakes so we really get confused about what to do when there is one!! LOL

僕の国アイルランドでも地震はないから本当にびっくりする。

In Ireland we never have earthquakes...so I get nervous and afraid!!

僕のいま住んでいるとなりの友人はオーストラリア人。
The place I am living now..there is an Australian living there!

地震があると彼はどんな服でも外にでる。

No matter how small an earthquake he always runs outside!

彼は地震のニュースよりも早い！！！！！！！
He is even faster than the earthquake newscast!!
!!!!!!

シャワーの時に地震がこないかな(笑）
I wonder will there ever be an earthquake when he's in the shower? LOL

僕はピザ大好き♪

今日の夕飯はピザにした！！

Ｉhad pizza for dinner today!!

僕はピザが大好きだから、一番美味しいピザ見つけるために今まで日本にあるデリバリーピザを全部頼んだことがあるかも！（笑）
I really love pizza...so much that I think that I have ordered pizza from every delivery company in order to find the most delicious! LOL

アイルランドでもピザを良く食べていた。デリバリーも！！！
I often ate pizza in Ireland...delivery too!!!

最高ピザＬサイズ２枚いけるかも（笑）

I could probably get through two Large ones on a good day! LOL

特に外国人に人気あるよね！まぁ・・・ピザ嫌いな人に会ったことがないかも！！
Foreigners really love pizza!!! To tell you the truth, I don't think I have met a person who doesn't like pizza!!!

日本にあるデリバリーの中で一番お気に入りデリバリーピザはドミノピザ！！僕の友達の中でも大人気！美味しいよね！！（笑）

I think my favourite delivery pizza here in Japan has to be Dominos. A lot of my friends love Dominos the best too! It's really good , eh? LOL

しかも僕のBLOGからピザデリバリーが出来るようになりました。(笑)

今日は日本で買える外国のめずらしい物を紹介するね！！
Today I am going to introduce some unusual European things that you can buy in Japan!!

これからポールのお気に入りとしてたまに書いていくね（笑）
I will sometimes write about things that interest me or things I like! LOL

千葉のカルフールに行ったのでめずらしいBEER見つけたよ。
When I went to Carre Four yesterday I found some rare beers!

３本買いました。

I bought 3 of them!!

SATAN　RED　ベルギー　(Belgian)

AMBER１９００　スペイン (Spanish)

ENGEL　BOCK　ドイツ (German)

ENGEL　BOCKはアルコール６．８％で高いけどSATAN　REDはびっくり！！！！８％！！！！！！！！！！！Engel Bock has 6.8& Alcohol, which is quite high but Satan Red has 8&!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

飲むと楽しい悪魔のようになるBEERだって（笑）
A beer that will bring out the DEVIL in you!!! HAHA

これ１本で酔えるね。
You would get drunk on just one of these!!

あとはビネガー紹介します。

And I want to introduce some vinegars too!!

アイルランドにもあるんだけど
You can buy these in Ireland or England!!

SARSON'S　イギリス (Sarson's malt vinegar...great on Fish & Chips)
　
MONARI　FEDERZONI　イタリア (Italian Balsamic vinegar...Great on salads or in cooking)

フイッシュ＆チップにかけたら最高！！！

日本では揚げ物にはソースだけどビネガーをかけてみて。
In Japan you tend to use sauce on fried foods but try vinegar on them next time!!

さっぱりして美味しいよ。
Tastes really good!

ビネガーは健康にも良いし日本でも流行らせましょう（笑）
Vinegar is goog for your health too!! Let's set a trend in Japan!!!LOL

僕はアイルランドのダブリン出身です。

I am originally from Dublin, Ireland.

今も両親はダブリンにいます。
My parents still live there now.
日本でいえば東京かな。
I suppose Dublin is comparible to Tokyo here in Japan.

ダブリンは首都だからね。
Because Dublin is the Capital City.
日本は本当に面白い国だよね。
Japan really is an interesting country!!

何でもあるしびっくりです。
I was surprised because you have everything here!!

２４時間やってるコンビニや自動販売機。

Convenience stores open 24hrs and vending machines!!

カップラーメンの自動販売機もあるんだよね！！

You even have a vending machine for cup noodles!!

誰か納豆の自動販売機知りませんか？（笑）
Does anyone know where I can find a natto vending machine?? LOL

これからもっとアイルランドの事書いていくね。

I am going to write more and more about Ireland from now on!

ダイエット

海外で日本食は大人気！！
Japanese food is really popular abroad!!
ヘルシーだしダイエットにも良いよね。
僕のお母さんはアイリッシュシチューのかくし味にしょう油を使います。

It's really healthy and good for a diet too!
My mother has always used Soy sauce when making Irish stew too!

しょう油ははじめて日本についた空港でも匂いがしたよ。
I could even smell Soy sauce when I got off the plane at Narita for the first time!!

アイルランドはギネスの匂いがします（笑）
When you get off the plane in Dublin, you can smell Guinness! LOL

僕は納豆が好き！！

I love Natto though!!

びっくりでしょ？
You are probably shocked right!?

ねぎは苦手だけど納豆にしょう油かけて食べます。
I'm not an onion lover but I love Soy sauce on my natto!

みんな納豆のおいしい料理おしえてください！！
Tell what natto recipes you like!?

アイルランドの犬

アイルランドでも犬を飼っている家が多いよ！
色々な種類がいます。
In Ireland, a loto of households have dogs!
There are a lot of different breeds of dogs too.

ダブリン市でも野良犬が凄く多いから、最近問題になっているみたい！
でも野良犬は大体雑種の犬なんだ。
何でだろう？？

Because there are a lot of stray dogs in Dublin, it has been becoming a problem!! But it seems that most of the stray dogs are crossbred dogs and mongrels...I wonder why!??

僕のお兄さんは犬があんまり好きじゃない.若いときに野良犬にアタックされました！
お兄さんは転んで噛まれたんだ！怖かったんだって！
My older brother doesn't like dogs, and when he was younger he was attacked by a stray dog. My brother fell over and was bitten by the dog!! He said it was really scary!!

野良の動物は犬だけじゃないだ。
野良馬もいるよ（笑)
ビックリでしょ！！

But dogs aren't the only stray animals in Ireland. We have wild stray horses too!! LOL!!
STRANGE eh??

僕は若いときににお父さんと暗い道を運転していて、

車の前に野良馬が出てきて
ブレーキを強くかけて大丈夫だったけど、
危なかった！！！！！
When I was younger I was out with my father in the car, and we were driving home down this dark road on the outskirts of Dublin.
Suddenly, out of nowhere came a wild horse right in front of our car!! My father broke suddenly and we avoided hitting it!!
Dangerous, right?!!!!!

僕は動物好きだしかわいいと思うけど、野良はかわいそう。。。
I love animals and think that they are cute, but it is a pity about stray animals...I feel sorry for them!

I　LOVE　BEER！！

みんなはどんな夏過ごしてる？
How is everyone spending their summer?

僕は今日costoco行って買い物をしてきました！！
I went to COSTCO today to do some shopping!!

安いし量も多いから良く行くんだ。
It's cheap and the quantity is pretty large, so I go a lot.

BEERとかも安いよ！！BEER is really cheap too!!

外国人は良く飲むからね（笑）Foreigners really like their drinking too! LOL
僕のイギリスから日本に来た友達の話しだけど居酒屋に行ってBEERを頼んだら泡が多かった

One of my friends from England living over here went to an Izakaya and ordered a beer, but there was too much head!!

イギリスとかでは日本と違ってBEERの泡は少なく入れてくれる。その方がBEERの量が多くなるしね（笑）
Bars in England and back home give you get beer the way you like it...without much head, not like here in Japan!! LOL

２杯目のBEERを頼む時にその友達はSTAFFに「泡無しでお願いします。｣とオーダーした。

So they asked the staff if they could have the second round with no head!!

そしたら量は変わらないで泡だけがなかった（笑）The staff brought the beer back　only three quarters full.....just no head! PRICELESS!! LOL

みんなも泡無しでオーダーしてみてね！！Everyone try order a beer without head...see what happens!!

When we think size, the size of Irish food portions are big!!
You could share a dish between 2, but you want to have the memories fo a great holiday, so you want to order different things, don't you!!?

そんな時店員さんに「私は食べきれないので量を半分減らしてください」と
言ってみたら？？
You can say to the waiter or waitress "Could I get a half portion please?"

もう一つアドバイス、帰るときに「とても美味しかったです」と言えたら、あなたもネイティブ!!
One more piece of advice...when you are leaving the restaurant you could say "The meal was delicious".
Bet you're Native level now!!

英語のレベルアップしたかな？？
Have you levelled up in English??

僕の日本語の勉強方法は、ずばり実践です。
この５年間毎日日本語を使うようにしてきました。
だから、ヒアリングはほぼ完璧？かな・・・
How do I study Japanese I hear you ask!?! Real time PRACTICE!!
That is how I have come to use Japanese these 5 years.
That's probably why my listening is pretty good!

ライティングはブログとかメールするときに辞書を使ったり、
友達にチェックして貰ったりしています！！
I practice writing in mails and in my blog.
And sometimes i get my friends to check for mistakes.

良く漢字は大丈夫？？と言われるけど、パソコンで入力すれば、
変換出来るからね(笑）
People often ask if I can use Kanji? Well I can check kanji on my PC..eh? LOL

キッチンからこんばんは！！

Evening from my Kitchen!!

今夜は僕の夕食を紹介します。
外国人って日本で何を食べているか？
みんなはだいたい外食＆コンビニが多いです。
This is what I had for dinner this evening.
Wondering what foreigners eat in Japan??
Among my mates, a lot of them eat out or get Convenience
store Bentos.

でも僕は自炊です（笑）
But I cook for myself!! LOL

では今晩のメニュー紹介します。
Well, here is todays menu.

ポークマスタードミートソース・ほうれん草サラダ・グリンピースバターソテー・ガーリックマフィンです。

Pork Mustard Bolognese / Spinach / Green Peas / Garlic Toasted Muffins　　

僕はアイルランドでは友達と外食を一回もした事がないです。
だいたい家で食べてから飲みに行く事が多かったよ。
Believe it or not, I have never eaten out with my friends in
Ireland!!
We usually ate at home and then met up and went out drinking!

日本に来て食べる量が減りました。
The amount I eat has also dropped since I have come here!

外国人の友達はみんな日本に来てやせるみたい！！
Most of my friends have lost weight since they've come to Japan.

和食はヘルシーだからね。

Japanese food is healthy eh!??

ビール飲んだ後は？

この前、日本人＆外国人グループで飲みに行った帰りの話しなんだけど飲んだ後にお腹が空いたのでみんなで何か食べて帰る事になった。

Recently I was out drinking with my boys...some western guys and some of my Japanese mates....on the way home we decided to go get some food...MMM

日本人のみんなは｢ラーメンかお茶漬けだよね♪｣とか
｢スープ系が良いよ！！｣とか言ってきた。
Japanese people love Ramen and Ochazuke...don't they...everyone said they wanted something with soup!!

それを聞いた外国人グループは｢え？ハンバーガーだろ！！｣とか｢飲んだ後はフイッシュ＆チップだよ！！｣とか言う話しになった。

My western boys said.....HAMBURGERS!!!!!! or even better....FISH and CHIPS!

僕の国アイルランドでは飲んだ後にお腹が空くとだいたいフイッシュ＆チップを持ちかえりで買っていく事が多い。

Back in Ireland....almost everytime we go drinking we hit the local Chipper on the way home for some Fish & Chips.

それを聞いた日本人のみんなが｢飲んだ後にハンバーガーやフイッシュ＆チップ？日本人はだいたいスープ系のものを好むんだよ｣って言われた。

My Japanese friends were shocked and said that they usually want to get something with soup!

国によって違うんだなと思ったら面白かった！！
I thought that it was funny that we couldn't agree....cultural differences..eh!?

僕は外国人だけど飲んだ後はラーメン系です（笑）
I am a foreigner but I am a RAMEN man!

浮世絵

｢ブログのデザインどうやって作ったの？｣
とみんなから聞かれたのでお答えします。
聞きたくない人にも教えます・・・・（笑）
A lot of people have asked me how I created the BLOG design!!!?
I suppose I will tell ya!! LOL

デザインのイメージは
｢浮世絵の波に甚平を着て扇子を持ち
ぼくがサーフインをやっている姿｣

The design image is a famous painting with me surfing the waves!

浮世絵の波のバックはあったけどぼくの写真がない！！！！！！！！！

I had the background image but I didn't have my own pics!!!!!!

甚平を着て扇子を持ったサーフインをしている写真を撮るしかない。

All I could do was go and get my picture taken wearing a Jimbei with a fan in a surfing pose.

友達のKに相談したらブログのための写真なら写真スタジオに行けと言われた。

I checked with my mate K and he told me to get down to a studio and get my pic taken!

｢ス・・・ス・・スタジオ？？？｣

S....T....U....D....I....O???

｢はずかしい・・・・｣

How EMBARRASSING!!!!!!

でもこれは僕の宿命
行かないと！！

It was FATE!!!!

スタジオに行ってカメラマンにイメージを伝えたら笑われた。。。

When I went to the studio and told the cameraman what I wanted to do...he laughed!!

でも撮影に入ると二人ともノリノリになった（笑）

But when we imposed my image we both laughed!!!

次にパソコンでデザインをやっていると波の間に僕の写真を小さく入れた。

Then he imposed a small image of myself into the waves!

｢ちがう！！！｣

NO! I said!!!!

僕が見えないじゃないか。

You can't even see me!!!

やっぱり自分で作らなきゃいけないのか・・・

I thought I had to do this myself!

｢これも宿命｣

That was fate too!!!

急いで自宅に帰りパソコンに向かった。　　

I raced home and got to work on my PC

完成！！

It's PERFECT

僕が目立ちすぎた・・

There I was....in your face....

日本に住んで５年半･･･もっとたくさん日本を知りたい！！

ジンギスカンキャラメルは、びっくりした！アイルランドではラムをよく食べたけど･･･。
すごい味すぎて新聞に載ったんだって。
焼肉ようかんは、甘い焼肉のタレの味がした。僕は焼肉ようかんがおすすめです。

是非みんなも食べてみてね！！
